The groom

My name is Frederick and it all started sometime in 2015 on Facebook (hahaha). I was waiting for my NYSC in Nigeria while she just rounded up her first degree in the Philippines. I noticed she liked almost all my posts on Facebook and I was very active with lots of engagements from people commenting on my posts. I think I sent her a friend request from there we became friends. She was doing one short course in Business Management while waiting for her graduation ceremony in the Philippines. I used to help her solve a lot of mathematical assignments ( she knows English while I know the sciences haha). We became very good friends. Always talking to each other on the phone (she is a love fanatic, I remember one day we stayed on the phone for a complete 24 hours and even left the call on while we were sleeping hahahah ). One thing that made our friendship grow is the fact that she is the talking type while I am the listening type(wetting concern me kwanu LOL). But before she came to the UK, I assisted her in finding the right school and we did some research together. We started dating in 2016, I had my secondary schoolmate Chris who was also her neighbour in the Philippines then, I enquired him about her, and my guy told me to carry on (na so my mind was made up to carry on haha). When she missed her flight to the UK from the Philippines, I had to leave Enugu (where I was serving) to Lagos Island Etihad Airways Office Church Gate Towers in 2016, I travelled because her flight was booked from Nigeria and the only way to reschedule her flight was to travel to Lagos. I had to sleep in an uncompleted building ( my friend I went to stay with at his place in the Island, I never knew he was living in an incompleted building. I had to stay with him the days I was in Lagos before going back to Enugu after sorting out her Flight issue. what you do for love haha). I later moved to Dubai in 2017 immediately after my NYSC through a work visa. We met for the first time after dating for two years without seeing each other on the 21st of December 2018 in Dubai this was after some attempts to secure a visit visa to visit her in the UK were refused, so she had to visit me instead. We had our first date on the 23rd December 2018 in Dubai Marina and it is not a coincidence that our wedding is also taking place on the 23rd December 2023. Some months after we started dating, I told her that she would be my wife and the mother of my unborn children. We have had our ups and downs, moments of breakups and make-ups. One thing was peculiar, we were both determined to make it work and today God stood between us and the rest is history. Over the years, we both have learned to understand each other and we grew together in maturity. I am grateful to God that we are finally getting married.
